Writing Can Be Murder

There’s an excellent article up at the Writer’s Store entitled Opening Your Art by Derek Rydall.

Even though it’s written by a guy who works on screenplays, the stuff he has to say about creativity (and our daily battles to be creative) can be applied to any artist. I sent it to a composer friend yesterday and she loved it.

  1. Very interesting. I agree that you don’t have to suffer to be creative, but it seems like we manage to anyway, even if it’s only self-imposed psychological suffering.
