Writing Can Be Murder

Lame limericks

Filed under: Uncategorized — jenniferelbaum @ 4:52 pm

Here’s a glimpse of what it’s like to live in a writer’s head.

I don’t want to write the next scene. I really, really don’t want to write it. So I’ve procrastinated by writing a lame limerick.

I’m not even into limericks but my Southern-fried friend Laura likes them, bless her heart.  This one stems from a discussion we had a week or two ago about tattoos.

There once was a girl with a tat

Over time she grew old and grew fat

The ink faded fast

Her true love didn’t last

And now people say, “What the hell’s that?”

  1. LOL! That’s pretty good. It beats “There once was a man from Nantucket…”

I was never good at limericks and forget haiku, that’s just torture.

  2. I can do neither, but apparently you’ve found one of the thousands of ways writers avoid writing. I’m so proud.

  3. Hey Melissa, I was writing, I was creating, what more can you expect of me?
    😉
