Writing Can Be Murder

Best laid plans (sounds like a book title, doesn’t it?)

So yesterday I kicked off my FiThBoByEnOfYe challenge (my warped version of NaNoWrimo). The one where I’m supposed to write 2500 words a day. My grand total ended up being 1704. I’m already 800 words behind. (sigh)

Three events threw me off yesterday:

1) I witnessed a car hit another car (parked) in the supermkt parking lot and made the mistake of trying to do the right thing. So I wasted a good amount of time standing out in the cold, more time arguing with the cop on the scene, arguing with the police dept over the phone when I got home, and ranting to anyone who would listen. I should have been like the other half dozen people who saw the same thing as me, but walked away, because after all, it wasn’t their problem.

 2) The damn dog knocked a bowl of soup off my desk, breaking the bowl and splattering tomato all over my WHITE carpet. Everything ground to a halt, while I desperately tried to keep it from staining.

3) I got a call telling me someone in my family got hurt. This sent me into full-on worrying mode.

So my goal today is to catch up. That means I have to write 3300 words.

How’d your day go yesterday and what are your plans for today?

  1. Well, you heard my rant so you know what my day was like on Tuesday. I did manage to write Chapter Eleven of my WIP, so I guess the day wasn’t a total loss, but I had a few moments where I had to wonder why I even bothered getting out of bed.
